On the trails, generations of women are growing together.
Each week over the summer, moms, daughters, and sisters pedal side by side, discovering strength in themselves and in one another. Andrea and Naciria show up as both friends and mothers who push each other to be brave, vulnerable, and active as adults. Right beside them, their daughters Natalia and Claudia mirror that courage, taking on climbs that felt impossible just months ago.
Across the program, this pattern repeats in the most beautiful ways.
Jayleen and Yuli push each other with sisterly rivalry. They tease, giggle, and roll their eyes at each other, but as Coach Erin puts it, “those two are thick as thieves.” Underneath every playful jab is a deep protectiveness. As coach Erin observed, “I don't think there's ever a time at practice where one doesn't know where the other is. They're not only so close in age, but close at heart.”
Ellie and Reagan bring a different kind of sisterly bond to the team. With a few years between them, Reagan looks up to Ellie. And Ellie sets such a good example for her little sister. Both are so interested in learning and progressing on their bikes and absorb all of the information coaches have to share like sponges. They are both brave enough to share their thoughts and feelings during mentorship time. They model what it looks like to grow not just as athletes, but as whole people.
And then there is Claudia and her mom, Naciria. This duo is known for their warmth and the joy they create wherever they go. When Coach Erin arrives at practice, Claudia is the first to sprint over with a huge hug, ready to share stories from school or ask about her coach’s day. One afternoon, after Erin commented on how much fun Claudia seems to have, Naciria smiled and said, “First rule at home is try to enjoy whatever it is you’re doing.” Like mother, like daughter!
The same is true for Andrea and Natalia. The women in this family are courageous! Despite being one of the smallest riders on the team, Natalia will ride any feature without hesitation, no questions, no second-guessing. Andrea takes a more thoughtful approach, studying the feature, evaluating the risk… and then choosing bravery anyway. Together, they embody what it means for women to challenge themselves at every age.
Through The Cycle Effect, these families are building something rare and powerful:
A space where women and girls of all ages can celebrate their strength.
A place where daughters watch their moms take risks, try new things, and grow.
A place where moms draw inspiration from their daughters’ boldness.
A community where sisters, friends, and families create lifelong memories on the trails.
Andrea summed it up perfectly:
“Seeing Natalia’s growth is gratifying. Watching both her growth and mine, athletically and mentally, happen together is astonishing.”
That’s the magic of The Cycle Effect.
It’s not just biking. It’s shared accountability. Shared courage. Shared transformation.
A legacy of women lifting women, one ride at a time.
A family affair on the trails! And the impact will ripple through generations.
