Mesa County offers a one-of-a-kind riding experience in Colorado’s desert environment, where technical trails challenge riders to become strong and skilled bikers. As a non-resort, rural metro area, it provides a unique blend of small-town community and big adventure. The Cycle Effect’s vibrant program in Mesa County empowers athletes to engage with the outdoors and the Grand Valley community, create lasting friendships, and build confidence on some of the most exciting terrain in the region. 

Girls Mountain Bike & Mentorship Program

The Girls Mountain Bike Program has helped over 1,000 young riders discover their potential—both on and off the bike. There’s never been a better program for girls to grow their confidence, find belonging, and gain access to year-round experiences that shape their futures. Through mentorship and skill-building, Cycle Effect riders grow into their most empowered selves, while having fun and building lasting friendships.

  • For girls aged 10-18 from all backgrounds

  • Bikes, gear, and transportation provided

  • Low cost (only $65 per session!) + scholarships available

  • Opportunities for competitive and non-competitive race celebrations

  • January 30th - March 6th, Fridays 4:30pm- 6:00pm

  • March 23rd- June 3rd; Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30pm - 7:30pm

    Note: No practice on Memorial Day. Please expect a longer excursion day on Saturday, April 18th and participation in various events around Rides and Vibes on May 8th and 9th.

  • August 10th- October 21st; Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30pm - 7:30pm

    Note: Please expect a longer Saturday excursion on September 26 for the Hotdogger event in Eagle and October 17.

Mujeres y Pedales program

Mujeres y Pedales is a women’s mountain biking program built around growth, skill development, and community. Whether you’re new to mountain biking or looking to refine your skills, this program provides structured, supportive coaching to help you progress on and off the bike.

The more you commit, the more you’ll gain. Each practice is designed to develop your technique, confidence, and fitness. While no prior experience is required, some practices are specifically staffed to support new riders, ensuring everyone feels welcome and empowered to learn.
